Connacht Rugby's major breakthrough came in 2015-16 when they won the Pro12 title, their first major trophy, defeating Leinster in the final. They also reached the European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-finals multiple times in the 2010s and have consistently competed in the Pro14/URC since joining in 2010, establishing themselves as a competitive tier-one province after years of underperformance.
