Connacht Rugby has competed in the Pro14 (formerly RaboDirect Pro12) since 2001 and won the championship in 2016, their only major trophy in the competition. The western Irish province has consistently finished mid-table in recent seasons and reached multiple Pro14 semi-finals. Connacht also competes in the Heineken Champions Cup, representing one of Ireland's four professional rugby regions.
