Munster and Leinster have contested over 150 matches since 1927, with Leinster holding a slight historical edge in overall wins. The rivalry intensified during the professional era (1995-present), where Leinster's four European Cups have given them dominance, though Munster won three European titles and remain formidable competitors. Their interprovincial clashes consistently rank among rugby's fiercest rivalries.
