Munster and Leinster are Ireland's most intense provincial rivals, with Leinster holding a significant head-to-head advantage in their 130+ meetings since 1875. Leinster has won the majority of encounters and four European Cups compared to Munster's one, though Munster's passionate fan base and memorable victories—particularly in the 1970s-80s—have cemented this as rugby's fiercest provincial rivalry.
