Ulster rugby history and provincial success

Ulster Rugby is one of Ireland's four professional provinces, founded in 1879, and achieved their greatest success by winning the 1999 European Cup, their only major continental trophy. The province has won multiple Irish provincial championships and produced numerous international players who represented Ireland, including legendary figures like Willie John McBride. Ulster remains competitive in the United Rugby Championship and European competitions despite operating from a smaller population base than rival provinces.
