Ireland rugby positions include the front row (hooker and two props), second row (two locks), back row (two flankers and number 8), half-backs (scrum-half and fly-half), centres (inside and outside), and back three (two wingers and full-back). Each position has specific roles: forwards provide scrums and lineouts, backs create attacking play and score tries. The fly-half directs play while the full-back defends and counter-attacks.
