The best Ireland rugby hookers of all time are Keith Wood, considered the greatest, followed by Peter Stringer, Ronnie Dawson, and more recently Rob Herring and Dan Sheehan. Wood revolutionized the position with his athleticism and leadership during the 1990s-2000s, earning 58 caps. These hookers exemplified excellence in lineout throwing, scrummaging, and overall play for Ireland.
