Connacht Rugby achieved professional status in 1996 when they were admitted to the Pro14 (then Celtic League), transforming from an amateur provincial union into a fully professional outfit competing against elite European teams. Their development accelerated through investment in coaching, facilities, and player recruitment, culminating in winning the Pro12 title in 2016, establishing them as a competitive force in Irish and European rugby.
