Connacht is one of Ireland's four provincial rugby unions, founded in 1886, and won the Pro14 championship in 2016, their first major trophy in 45 years. The province competes in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup, representing the western counties of Ireland including Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, and Leitrim.
