Connacht Rugby rise to professional rugby

Connacht Rugby turned professional in 1996 when they joined the Irish provincial rugby system as a professional entity, competing in the All-Ireland League and later the Interprovincial Championship. Their rise accelerated following Connacht's entry into the Celtic League in 2003, which provided access to higher-level competition and significantly improved their playing standards and infrastructure over subsequent decades.
