Ireland's best Rugby World Cup performance was reaching the quarter-finals multiple times, most notably in 2003 when they lost to France, and again in 2015 when they were eliminated by Argentina. The Irish rugby team has participated in every World Cup since 1987 but has never reached the semi-finals, with their overall tournament record showing consistent competitiveness in the group stages but struggles in knockout matches against top-tier nations.
