Ireland has competed in every Rugby World Cup since 1987, reaching the quarter-finals in most tournaments with their best performance being semi-finals in 1991 and 2023. The team won the Six Nations Championship multiple times and achieved their highest World Cup ranking of second in 2023 when they reached the semi-finals before losing to South Africa.
