Ulster Rugby, founded in 1875, is one of Ireland's four professional provinces and won the European Cup in 1999 under coach Mark McCall. The province's most famous players include Jackie Kyle, a legendary fly-half from the 1940s-50s, and modern stars like Rory Best, Dan Sheehan, and Paddy Jackson who led their recent competitive teams. Ulster has consistently competed at the highest level of European rugby.
