Ireland has reached the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals five times (1987, 1991, 1995, 2003, 2011) but has never won the tournament or reached the final. Their best performance was reaching the quarter-finals multiple times, with notable campaigns in 2003 when they topped their pool and in 2011 when they reached the last eight in New Zealand.
