Ireland has reached the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals five times (1987, 1991, 1995, 2003, 2011) and the semi-finals twice (2023, where they lost to South Africa). Their best performance was reaching the quarter-finals multiple times, with their most recent tournament in 2023 marking their second semi-final appearance. Ireland has never won the Rugby World Cup.
